The band’s first appearance took place in Rijeka (Croatia) in January 2003 and its members are: Karlo Horvat (vocals/guitar), Rade Malobabic (guitar), Marko Vladilo (bass guitar) and Igor Malobabic (drums).

The easiest way to describe the music played by this band at its initial phase was as melodic death metal. Downfall’s first promo material was made in February 2004 and it contains two songs – Point Of No Return and Sign Of Betray – both of which were recorded in "www.studijozasirotinju.com" studio. Their demo received nothing but positive reviews from different magazines and metal e-zines (Cmar-net, United Forces magazine, Hard and Heavy magazine – to name just a few) and all of them predicted a bright future for the band.

However, as time passed the influences have changed and after a while the band was turned off by endless comparisons to other bands playing similar music. Thus they have decided to make a step forward and make a change. Nevertheless, they decided not to give up their strong beat under any circumstance.

Subsequently Downfall performed at the legendary 26th "RI-ROCK" festival and won the first prize among 30 competing bands. What followed were concerts throughout Croatia. These concerts distinguish Downfall from other Croatian bands by their energy and powerful performance. This was confirmed by their performance at the first Croatian "METAL CHALLENGE" where they appeared together with some of the greatest names of the Croatian metal scene (Father, Nailed, Rising Dream).
               

What followed was the invitation to open two concerts for the well known band with a controversial name Rotting Christ. In addition, Downfall may be proud with its appearance at the "METAL MELTING FESTIVAL 2005", notorious for its grand fiasco and fraud, when together with couple of other bands they have played with Amon Amarth, the Viking metal kings.

After all these concerts, in May 2006 Downfall signed a short-term contract with "DALLAS RECORDS". The objective was to produce a compilation entitled "STRASNI RIJECANI" which was released by the recording company "CIKLAMA RECORDS" (DALLAS RECORDS’ sub-label). Downfall’s two newly recorded tracks SECOND and B.L.E.A.K. can be found in this compilation. Those have been recorded and produced in "www.studijozasirotinju.com" studio in March and April 2006 and they are a proof of Downfall’s professionalism and quality. This was followed by two major promotions: firstly, the band did the opening for the well-known rock group from Rijeka – Let 3 at their gig in Ljubljana (Slovenia) at Mediapark concert-hall (this concert-hall hosted such world-class metal bands as Nevermore, Cradle of Filth, Sepultura and In Flames); this prepared them for the second event – an important promotion at Rijeka’s "Hartera" festival on June 30, 2006. "STRASNI RIJECANI" compilation includes performances of best rock and metal bands in Rijeka and the surrounding area – a region definitely to be an important chapter of the history of rock scene in this country.

Bend je osnovan u Rijeci (Hrvatska) u siječnju 2003. godine. Članovi su: Karlo Horvat (vokal/gitara), Rade Malobabić (gitara), Marko Vladilo (bass gitara) i Igor Malobabić (bubnjevi).

Muzika koju je ovaj bend u početku svirao najlakše se može opisati kao melodic death metal. Downfall je snimio svoj prvi promo meterijal u veljači 2004. godine, koji sadrži dvije stvari - Point Of No Return i Sign Of Betray, koje su snimljene u studiju "www.studijozasirotinju.com". Njihov demo prima jako dobre kritike od raznih časopisa i metal e-zine-ova (Cmar-net, United Forces magazine, Hard and Heavy magazine...) koji odmah najavljuju dobru budućnost benda.

Kako je vrijeme prolazilo utjecaji su se mijenjali i bendu je dosadilo konstantno uspoređivanje s bendovima istog pravca, tako da su odlučili otići korak naprijed, ali nipošto ne odmicati od žestokog zvuka.

Ubrzo nakon toga Downfall nastupa na legendarnom "RI-ROCK" festivalu koji se održava već 26. godina i osvaja 1. mjesto među 30 bendova. Nakon toga slijede koncerti diljem Hrvatske na kojima se Downfall ističe svojim energičnim i žestokim nastupima izdižući se iznad ostalih hrvatskih bendova. To potvrđuje nastup na prvom Hrvatskom "METAL CHALLENGE-U", gdje su nastupali zajedno sa najvećim imenima Hrvatske metal scene (Father, Nailed, Rising Dream). Ubrzo dobivaju poziv da otvore 2 koncerta poznatoj grupi s kontroverznim imenom Rotting Christ. Također se mogu pohvaliti nastupom na "METAL MELTING FESTIVALU 2005" poznatom po velikom fijasku i prijevari, gdje su zajedno sa nekolicinom bendova svirali sa viking metal kraljevima Amon Amarth.

Nakon tih koncerata u svibnju ove godine Downfall potpisuje ugovor sa "DALLAS RECORDS" na određeno vrijeme, radi kompilacije "STRAŠNI RIJEČANI", koja izlazi za diskografsku kuću "CIKLAMA RECORDS" (podetiketa "DALLAS RECORDS-u").

Downfall-ove dvije novo snimljene stvari SECOND i B.L.E.A.K. mogu se naći na toj kompilaciji. Stvari su snimane i producirane u studiju "www.studijozasirotinju.com" u ožujku i travnju ove godine, te njima Downfall dokazuje svoju profesionalnost i kvalitetu. Slijede dvije velike promocije; prva kao predgrupa poznatim riječkim rockerima Let 3 u Ljubljani (Slovenia) u poznatoj koncertnoj dvorani Mediapark gdje su svirali svjetski poznati metal bendovi poput Nevermore, Cradle Of Filth, Sepultura, In Flames, pripremajući se tako za veliku riječku promociju na "HARTERA" festivalu održanom 30.06.2006 godine.

Kompilacija obuhvaća najbolje rock i metal bendove na području Rijeke i okolice, koji će definitivno ući u povijest jedne od najjačih rock scena na ovim prostorima.
