10.04.2007. - Croatian Musicians Union loves death metal!!!

CMU has presented “ready for retirement” Croatian instrumentalists with Golden Plaques. Amongst them there is also our Rade!!!

People, you are not mistaken... In April, CMU is celebrating its 15th anniversary. The celebration will be supported with the annual Status Awards ceremony. The awards will be presented on April, 11th, in Bugaloo (a club in Zagreb) and only the invited guests will be able to participate in the awards ceremony.

Status Awards are awarded annually since 1997. They are awarded to the best Croatian instrumentalists for the previous calendar year. In addition to Status Awards, CMU is giving out Golden Plaques to the distinguished individuals and institutions taking part in Croatian music industry. In the midst of all these grandpas and grandmas, there is a twenty year old guitarist from Rijeka, Rade Malobabi?, who received a Golden Plaque for the most promising young guitar player.

09.01.2007. - Downfall wishes you a happy new year!!!

Greetings guys, another year has gone by, a lot of good things happened, we did a few great venues last month, like Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Pula…

As far as Zagreb is concerned, we would like to say hi to all the guys from Rijeka, as well as the girls, who came to support us. We would also like to say hi to the Triper team, whose cooking, btw, is amazing.... Guys, you re the best, those beans of yours and tripes kick ass!!! We will see you in Ljubljana soon, and we could make a rerun!

We spent some time in our beautiful Dubrovnik and would like to thank Orlando crew. A special thanks goes to Desa (from F.E.B.R.A). Desa has been our host and has put up with us for couple of days. Not to forget, that fire cracking in the bathroom with Igor being inside was unbelievable!!!

Our Pula gig went great also (in spite of Karlo’s high temperature :), a lot of people, tons of food and booze… Big thanks goes to Leo, from Invert, because of his perfectly done drum solo… we were left speechless. We would like to thank Invert, F.E.B.R.A, Good Day to Die for their company as well as their performance. Thank you all for accepting us, it really means a lot!!!

Our next gig is scheduled at Kocka, Split, January, 27, after that we are playing in Palach, Rijeka, February, 3. We are in the process of setting the dates for Ljubljana (Orto Bar), Boogalo, Zagreb, Novska, etc. You will be informed in due time.

10.11.2006. - Hello people! We have some great news! Dallas Records, being one of the biggest record label companies on these territories, after a long, long time has published a compilation CD which is an overview of the Croatian heavy underground scene. The title of the compilation is NEW UNDERGROUND – HARD HITTERS FROM CROATIA. There, you can find two of our songs, Second and B.l.e.a.k. that are by now, (hopefully :), known to great many of you. This compilation serves as a reminder of the neglected sound whose quality can match the quality of the rivals beyond our borders. It is important to mention that this compilation differs from the last in its much heavier content! This project has already received great reviews and support from all of those participating in promoting young Croatian bands.

To all of you whom are interested and are willing to support Croatian underground scene, the compilation can be purchased in all Dallas Music Shop stores at a reasonable price of 70kn (approx 9 EUR).

The promo tour of the NEW UNDERGROUND compilation will be held at all major cities in Croatia, for instance, Rijeka, Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik etc. Tour dates can be found under the Tour section.

Downfall will have their next gig in Labin, November 11. After that we are playing at  the famous Mocvara, November 14, where we have been invited to play with Father, our friends who have recently returned from their UK tour.

13.08.2006. – Hello, everybody! After a long time and many requests the Downfall web site is finally on-line!

A lot happened lately and for the uninformed ones here is the most important information – Downfall signed a short-term contract with the record company DALLAS RECORDS in order to produce a compilation. Our two newly recorded tracks Second and B.l.e.a.k. are to be found in the compilation STRASNI RIJECANI released on June 30, 2006. You may get your hands on the compilation at any shop in Croatia and Slovenia authorized by Dallas Records at the price of 70 KN (approx 9 EUR). In addition, our music may be downloaded from the Discography section. The compilation’s presentation and a big concert took place in a former paper mill (Hartera) on June 30 and both went great! Definitely a day to remember! The following presentation + concert took place in Pula on July 7 at the Art and Music festival in Hard Rock Café and just like the previous did great!

We wish to thank our webmaster Mirko Zorz who is responsible for the entire idea and the web page design. Without him we would never have something quite like this… Thank you, Mirko!!!

06.06.2006. – Here we are after this somewhat relaxed concert in Booka with our friends Denial, cheers!!! The atmosphere was great, a lot of people, a lot of beer and a lot of good music! We would like to thank Mance and the rest of the crew for inviting us! We had a blast!!

27.05.2006. – Open air in Karlovac at the local basketball playground was great. We had no idea that people from Karlovac are such a crazy crowd! It wouldn’t hurt if we had more light on stage. Anyways, we can hardly wait to play there again! Best wishes to Zita!

03.05.2006. – Definitely one of the best concerts of the year! We did the opening for Rijeka’s legends Let 3 in a well-known Mediapark in Ljubljana (Nevermore, Cradle of Filth, and many more). Loads of people in the public and although they had no idea of what awaited them we were accepted with a huge applause! Slovenia, see you soon!!!
